Re: Invitation to the AIMS TTP Teacher Awards ceremony and ICT graduation 2023

Rwanda Basic Education Board in partnership with the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS)
through its Teacher Training Program in collaboration with Mastercard Foundation has organized the
Teacher Awards and ICT graduation Ceremony to be held on 26″ February 2023 at Kigali Convention
Center, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The purpose of the teacher awards is to increase teachers motivation to teach and learn sciences and Mathematics and to foster a culture of appreciation for Rwanda’s science and mathematics teachers for their hard work and dedication to teaching Rwandan children. This year’s teacher awards will have the theme “Teacher, the cornerstone of a brighter future” translated, “Mwalimu, shingiro ry’ejo heza” in Kinyarwanda.

The 2023 teacher awards ceremony follows two previous successful editions. In the third edition, we shall also celebrate also teachers who have completed ICT courses offered by AIMS TTP Rwanda. So far the program has trained about 3.563 (32% Women)teachers on pedagogically effective Information Communication Technology (ICT) skill and certified by ICDL (International Computer Driving License).

In this regard, I would like to invite the District Directors of Education (DDEs), District Education Officers
DEOS), selected teachers and SEls from your respective Districts to attend this important ceremony. The
list of invitees of each category are herewith attached. AIMS will cover all logistics related costs associated
with this event.
